Real Beauty- Redang Malaysia

Redang Island boasts with white sandy beaches lined with palm trees, crystal clear waters and spectacular coral reefs. It’s everything that you hoped a tropical island would be and this idyllic place is less than an hour from the east coast of peninsular Malaysia.

Most of the resorts on Redang Island are lined up along Pasir Panjang (Long Beach), arguably one of the best stretches of beach in all of Malaysia.

With excellent visibility and spectacular, easily accessible coral reefs, it is no wonder that Redang is hailed as a scuba diving and snorkelling paradise. Even right in front of the most popular beach, the rocks are home to various species of coral, reef sharks (harmless to humans) and moray eels. Redang and the surrounding islets were gazetted as a marine park in the early 90’s and human activity in the area is strictly controlled in order to protect the marine ecosystems.

During our stay we stayed at mutiara beach resort redang. This is private resort, but not much activites, Staff is nice and friendly. but for snorkling or diving you have either need to go long beach or marine park.

Redang Island has everything that you need for a fun island holiday – great beaches, warm tropical waters and plenty to do during the day and night time.

In my next blog i will try to tell you the best way to reach redang.

IT Show 2010

Sunday March 14, 2010. Afternoon, it was raining, and raining heavily, I decided not to go outside.

However for past couple of months I was planning to buy Antivirus and printer. It was last day at suntec city IT show.

2:30PM just looked outside from my balcony. It was still raining, for a moment I thought its good time to go at IT show as it won’t be so crowded. After few minutes I left.

Reached Cityhall, and it was a moment of shock for me, as it was heavily crowded, seems rain can’t stop people to visit IT show. From CityHall MRT to suntec city, it was heavily crowded, many places it was bottleneck. It took me at least 25min to reach there.

Level 1 was for redemption, wasn’t able to visit fully, level 2 was occupied by M1 and singtel, level 3 was covered by Starhub and sony.

Level 4 & Level 6 were interesting. Panasonic, Epson, LG, brother, canon, Nikon, Xerox, courts, audio house, HP, Acer, Norton, dell, lenovo and hundreds of small stall selling from mouse, keyboard, laptop bag, laptop, printer, usb thumb drive, hard disk, cooling fans, tablet pc and many other stuff.

It was almost impossible to cover level 4 and level 6 in one day. I did my level best and spend 3 hours there. Although I managed to buy one printer and few other computer stuff, but my recommendation is to visit first funan and sim lim in normal days, I came to know that the price difference is not that high as compare the trouble you need to face in IT shows, its should be not more that few dollars.

This morning news paper says, 4 day event saw 807,000 visitors and raked in $67.5 million in sales, better than last year’s 768,000 visitors and 58.5 million.
